mysunshinecoast.com.au Site Redesign

Well we are sure you have noticed a change in the site look. It was promised a while ago to Noely, and the first phase has finally arrived.

Everything you have loved about our site over the past 5 years is still here, we are just adding to the site from now on. New releases will be coming through thick and fast over the coming months, to allow for better customisation of your favourite features on site, and some brand new items which will entice you to visit our site on a more regular basis.

For advertisers on site, we will be adding even more value for money whilst maintaining our prices at 2007 levels. New avenues of promotion will become available for those wishing even further exposure of their business, service or product/s.

To stay in touch with what is happening here please join our Coast Newsletterfor up to the minute releases, special deals, promotions and more.

Some of the site looks the same

As you will notice some of our website looks the same as it did last week, you would be right. The migration to our new custom program is being done over phases so that we can release, test and receive feedback as we go through this redesign.

If you would like to add your 2cents worth about any facet of this new design please don't be backwards in coming forwards, contact us today with your thoughts.

For the Tech Heads

For those of you who are more technically minded, this what we have been doing.

  • Rebuilt the administration system and entire code base that maintains all facets of this website
  • Created a new web standards compliant website so that all visitors regardless of web browser can view and use our site with ease
  • Changed the database system from MySQL to PostgreSQL
  • Migrated 90+ million rows of data between these two database systems (this has caused the largest delays)
  • and re-creating many other facets of display and manipulation of data...
